Mark has been in the dental profession for over a 15 years, being involved in management every step of the way, helping re-brand practices and marketing to everyday management, he has a true passion for this so when the opportunity to own and manage his own dental practice arose, he welcomed the challenge ahead, since starting his first practice from scratch in Driffield Mark has gone on to own two further sites in York and Knaresborough helping spread family dentistry across Yorkshire. Mark enjoys mountain bike riding and racing his beloved Mini nicknamed “The Bear” along with spending time with his wife and children. Mark is a big sports fan, following Leeds Utd, Kansas City Chiefs and all things Formula one.

Dr Tom Stapleton

Dentist

GDC registration 244580. Leeds University.

Originally from Leicester, Toms background is in research. This resulted in him achieving a PhD in tissue engineering before gaining his dental qualification at Leeds University. He joins the Purely Dental team, where he is committed to providing general dentistry whilst serving you with honesty, quality and value.

As well as being a certified Invisalign provider, Tom has also undertaken further advanced restorative training to help provide the smile you deserve. This included completing an advanced certificate in restorative dentistry under the tutor-age of Dominic Hassall as well as recently completing certification in digital smile design and Bioclear composite bonding.

Tom has a natural enthusiasm for endodontics and has gone on to take further certification in endodontics through the highly regarded simplyendo training academy.

Tom’s main interest is digital dentistry, continually looking at new techniques to improve the ease and comfort in which treatment is provided.

Outside of dentistry, Tom is a husband and father of two beautiful little girls and he enjoys taking walks in the local Yorkshire countryside.

Stephen Zsigmond

Dentist

Stephen’s friendly, enthusiastic and confident approach has resulted in a dedicated following of patients. He has a focused and logical manner and enjoys the journey of taking an anxious patient to a place where they are happy to regularly attend, and can be proud of their teeth and smile.

Stephen has also completed post graduate training in cosmetic dentistry, composites, crowns, veneers as well as invisible orthodontics, to be able to give his patients the smile they’ve always wanted.

Stewart Simpkins

Dentist

GDC registration 244796. BDS, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Peninsular Dental School 2013

Stewart graduated from the prestigious Peninsular Dental School in 2013 where he was awarded the prize for Academic Attainment.

He then went on to complete his vocational training at an award-winning practice in Meltham Yorkshire. Before moving on to be a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery at Leeds General Infirmary, and later a clinical tutor at Leeds Dental Institute teaching and training dental students. During this time he also completed both Part 1 & 2 of the MJDF at the Royal College of Surgeons.

In 2016 Stewart decided to focus solely on general dental practice and has been working exclusively as a private general dentist since.

The experience and knowledge gained from his previous roles allows Stewart to provide care of the highest standard to his patients. His approach is preventative and minimally invasive. As well as providing excellent general dentistry Stewart’s interests are in modern bonded aesthetic fillings, porcelain restorations, Orthodontics, and implant dentistry.

Before becoming a Dentist, Stewart qualified as a physiotherapist and retains a keen interest in keeping fit. He also enjoys travel and watching documentaries on almost anything meaning he is a mine of interesting but mostly useless facts!

Dr Mihaela Paun

Dentist

Mihaela has a passion for preventative dentistry, creating perfect smiles with orthodontics and changing anxious patients outlook on dentistry. She prides herself in keeping up to date with modern dentistry techniques and applying those techniques to the benefit of her clients comfort and oral hygiene.

Mika got married in July 2015 and lives in York with her husband who is an engineer. When not at work Mika likes to engross herself in science fiction dramas and is an avid watcher of Game of Thrones and The Vikings, in addition she also likes reading sci-fi books.

Gill Cliffe

Hygienist

Gill has worked in dentistry since 1985 and more specifically as a Dental Hygienist since 1999. She has gained her vast clinical experience from working in hospital, NHS, independent, hospital, Community, orthodontics and oncology.

Gill is a passionate clinician focused on delivering health-focused patient care and adopting a holistic approach. She is the current N.E. Regional Representative for the British Society of Dental Hygienists and is married with a teenage daughter.

Samantha Hine

Dental Hygienist

Sam has worked in healthcare for over 10 years, and now enjoys working in our practices.

Sam moved from West Sussex to Leeds, to peruse a career in dentistry, and to complete her studies at Leeds Dental Institute. She finds working as a dental hygienist very rewarding, and feels lucky to have found such lovely, friendly practices to work in after qualifying. Sam likes to take a gentle and caring approach to patient care, and enjoys helping patients to feel at ease, in order to achieve their best level of oral health.

When not working Sam likes to go on adventures with her dog Baxter (getting taken for a walk by the dog!). She loves spending time with friends and family, and would also like to travel more and visit new places.

Glynis Foxton

I’ve been at Purely Dental 18 years, I’m proud to work at such a wonderful practice. My job is front desk meeting and greeting the patients.

I’m a friendly outgoing person. I put the patients at ease, as soon as they walk through the door with a welcome smile. I’m a family lady, I enjoy eating out, walking and travelling. I have two dogs, Daysey & Dennis who I love dearly.

Charlotte Kinnon RDN

Head Nurse

Charlotte is a caring and compassionate dental nurse who started her training in 2018 at Leeds Dental Institute, School Of Dental Nursing working at the hospital and various outreach clinics, Qualifying in May 2020.

Charlotte was excited to take on this new challenge at Purely, continually wanting to develop and learn new skills. She is a qualified decontamination lead and a Mental Health First Aider, supporting the team and community.

In Charlotte’s spare time she loves socialising with friends, horse riding and walking her dog Sally.

Pollyann Wright

Dental Nurse

Polly joined Crystal Clear in October 2018, after working as a nursery nurse for a few years she decided she wanted a new challenge. Polly very much enjoys being a trainee dental nurse, she has embraced learning new skills along with completing all course work that is set for her week by week. Polly particularly likes talking with patients to make them feel happy and relaxed whilst they’re in our care.

Polly loves going out with her boyfriend and dog Jake for a day of exploring come rain or shine. And when Polly isn’t out on an adventure she likes nothing better than watching a good movie or challenging people on the XBox.

Hope Clark

Hope is a kind and enthusiastic dental nurse who loves meeting new patients each day. Hope began her training in 2018 at Leeds Dental Institute and qualified in May 2020.

Hope is First Aid and Mental Health First Aid trained and particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry & orthodontics. You’ll also see Hope over on our social media platforms as social media manager.

In her free time, Hope enjoys photography, blogging and spending time with her family.

Annie Buckham

Trainee Dental Nurse

Annie decided she wanted to do something where she could learn throughout her time at work. This led her to us, and now she is very much enjoying being a trainee dental nurse. She really enjoys being part of our team, she is hard working and enjoys all aspects of the job, especially that not everyday is the same.

She’s kind, caring and considerate. When not at work, Annie enjoys fitness, socialising with her friends and loves to cuddle up on the sofa with her 5 dogs.
